The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So where are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
