The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of (mount) Tur. 1 and the Book inscribed 2 In a Scroll unfolded; 3 The house ever-peopled, 4 And the elevated canopy 5 and by the swelling sea, 6 Indeed your Lord’s punishment will surely take place. 7 There is none can avert it;- 8 Upon the Day when the heaven spins dizzily 9 And the mountains will move with a visible movement. 10 Woe, then, on that Day to all who give the lie to the truth 11 those who are in plunging, playing. 12 The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell 13 This is the fire which you used to give the lie to. 14 Is it magic or do you not still see? 15 "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." 16 Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and Delight. 17 rejoicing in that their Lord has given them; and their Lord shall guard them against the chastisement of Hell. 18 [And they will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer as an outcome of what you were wont to do, 19 (They shall be) reclining on couches ranged in rows and We shall wed them to houris (virgins of Paradise) with large wide eyes. 20 Those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, We will join their descendants to them. And We will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. Every one is pledged for what he has earned. 21 We shall provide them with fruits and the meat of the kind which they desire. 22 They will exchange cups of wine free of (incitement to) pleasantry or sin. 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 And one of them turned towards the other, questioning. 25 They will say: "Behold, aforetime - when we were [still living] in the midst of our kith and kin - we were full of fear [at the thought of God's displeasure]: 26 But Allah has been gracious to us and He has saved us from the punishment of the hot wind: 27 Surely we called upon Him before: Surely He is the Benign, the Merciful. 28
