The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 And by oath of the Promised Day. 2 By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;- 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 When they were sitting near it 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. 9 Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning. 10 As for the righteously striving believers, they will live in Paradise wherein streams flow. This is the greatest triumph. 11 Indeed the seizure of your Lord is very severe. 12 Behold, it is He who creates [man] in the first instance, and He [it is who] will bring him forth anew. 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 Executor of His own will. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 And Allah is after them, has them surrounded. 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate. 22
