The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
