The Night (Al-Layl)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 and by the day when it unveils. 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 Who had denied and turned away. 16 But save him who fears 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
