Al-Saaffaat 5 of 5
And Jonah too was one of the Messengers. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy; 142 And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, 143 He would certainly have tarried in its belly to the day when they are raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, 145 And We caused to grow up for him a gourdplant. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 Or, did We create the angels females while they were witnessing? 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 "God has begotten [a son]"; and verily, they are lying [too, when they say,] 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 And they have appointed a relationship between Him and the jinns; and indeed the jinns surely know that they will be brought forth. 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Save him Who is to roast in the Flaming Fire. 163 And there is none of us but has an assigned place, 164 we are the rangers, 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 What, would they then say: 167 'If only we had a reminder from the ancients, 168 we would certainly be true servants of God." 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 And watch, for they will soon see. 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
