S (Saad)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Sad: By the Qur'an, Full of Admonition: (This is the Truth). 1 But those who disbelieve are in pride and dissension. 2 How many generations have We destroyed before them who cried (for mercy) when it was too late for escape. 3 And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves. And the disbelievers say, "This is a magician and a liar. 4 Has he made the gods one single God? This is truly astounding.” 5 A group of the pagans walked out of a meeting with the Prophet and told the others, "Let us walk away. Be steadfast in the worship of your gods. This man wants to dominate you. 6 We have not heard this in the religious community close to our time. This is nothing but a fabrication. 7 "What! has the Message been sent to him - (Of all persons) among us?"... but they are in doubt concerning My (Own) Message! Nay, they have not yet tasted My Punishment! 8 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord, the Most Mighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or, is theirs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and that which is in-between the twain? If so, let them ascend by steps. 10 [They are but] soldiers [who will be] defeated there among the companies [of disbelievers]. 11 Before them the people of Noah, Ad, and Pharaoh of the tent-pegs gave the lie (to the Messengers) 12 And Thamud, and the people of Lout (Lot), and the dwellers of the wood; such were the confederates. 13 There was not one of them but treated their messengers as liars, so My punishment rightly overtook them: 14
