The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 then he mustered 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
