The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
