The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High, 1 who created and shaped, 2 decreed their destinies, and provided them with guidance. 3 And Who brings out the pasturage, 4 Then makes it dried up, dust-colored. 5 We will make you recite, [O Muhammad], and you will not forget, 6 save what God wills; surely He knows what is spoken aloud and what is hidden. 7 We shall make all your tasks easy. 8 So remind them if reminder is profitable: 9 He who fears [Allah] will be reminded. 10 but aloof from it will remain that most hapless wretch 11 Who will burn in the terrible Fire, 12 Then he will neither die in it, nor live. 13 To happiness [in the life to come] will indeed attain he who attains to purity [in this world,] 14 And magnifies the name of his Lord and prays. 15 But nay, [O men,] you prefer the life of this world, 16 and the world to come is better, and more enduring. 17 Lo! This is in the former scrolls. 18 the Scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
