We created mankind from clay, molded from mud, 26 And the jinn did We create aforetime of essential fire. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration." 29 So the angels made obeisance, all of them together, 30 Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated. 31 Allah said: O Iblis! what aileth thou that thou art not with the prostrates? 32 He said: "It does not behove of me to prostrate myself before a human being whom You have created out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud." 33 Said Allah, “Therefore exit from Paradise, for you are an outcast.” 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 Satan said, "O my Lord! Grant me respite till the Day of Resurrection." 36 Answered He: "Verily, so be it: thou shalt be among those who are granted respite 37 Till the period of the time made known. 38 "O my Lord," he said, "since You have led me into error I'll beguile them with the pleasures of the world and lead them astray, 39 [all] save such of them as are truly Thy servants!" 40 Allah said: this is the path leading unto Me straight. 41 verily, thou shalt have no power over My creatures - unless it be such as are [already] lost in grievous error and follow thee [of their own will]: 42 Surely, Hell is the place to which they are destined, 43 It has seven gates; for each gate is a portion assigned from them. 44
