Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale 6 which He let loose upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession; so that (if you had been there) you might have seen people lying prostrate, as though they were uprooted trunks of hollowed palm trees. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 in a lofty garden, 22 its fruits are near. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
