▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ So I call the placement of the stars to witness -- 75 - which is indeed a great oath if only you knew it - 76 That (this) is indeed a noble Qur'an 77 In Book well-guarded, 78 Which none toucheth save the purified, 79 A revelation by the Lord of the worlds. 80 Do you, then, take this discourse in light esteem, 81 And to give (it) the lie you make your means of subsistence. 82 Why, then, when the soul leaps up to the throat of the dying 83 And you are at that time looking on - 84 We are nearer to him than you, but you do not see 85 Wherefore then, if ye are not to be requited 86 do you not cause the soul to return to him if you are truthful in your claim? 87 But if he [the dying person] is one of those brought near to God, 88 then for him there shall be comfort and plenty and a Garden of Bliss; 89 If he is a Companion of the Right 90 he will be greeted with, "Peace be to you," by those on the Right. 91 And if he be of those who treat (Truth) as Falsehood, who go wrong, 92 He shall have an entertainment of boiling water, 93 and the heat of hell fire. 94 That indeed is the absolute truth. 95 So exalt the Name of your Lord, the Great. 96
