The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
