He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned (his) back, 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 As for him who considers himself free from need (of you), 5 So you are after him! 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 As for him who comes to you striving (after goodness), 8 And he feareth 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 These verses are a reminder 11 So whoso wills may give heed to it. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 lofty and pure, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave, 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 We send down abundant water, 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 And the olive and the palm, 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 on a Day when everyone will [want to] flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 on that Day, to every one of them will his own state be of sufficient concern. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing, joyous; 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 with darkness overspread: 41 those will be ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity. 42
