The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
