The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
