Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Perdition overtake both hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish. 1 His wealth did not avail him, nor his acquisitions. 2 Anon he shall roast into Fire having flame. 3 His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!- 4 A rope made from palm fibre around her neck! 5

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
