And the people of the Hijr (rocks) denied the Noble Messengers. 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 They would carve secure houses out of the mountains. 82 But the shriek seized them at early morning. 83 and that which they had earned did not help them. 84 We have not created but with reason the heavens and the earth and all that lies within them. The Hour (of the great change) is certain to come. So turn away (from them) with a grace. 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 Look not with your eyes ambitiously at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them (the disbelievers), nor grieve over them. And lower your wings for the believers (be courteous to the fellow-believers). 88 And say: "I am a distinct warner," 89 such as We send down for those who are divisive, 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all, 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists. 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 Indeed, We know that your breast is straitened at what they say. 97 But hymn the praise of thy Lord, and be of those who make prostration (unto Him). 98 and worship your Lord until the last moment (of your life) that will most certainly come. 99
