The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 who guard their privates, 5 save from their wives and what their right hands own then being not blameworthy 6 So whoever desires more than these two – they are crossing the limits. 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 These are indeed the inheritors. 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). 12 Thereafter We made him (the offspring of Adam) as a Nutfah (mixed drops of the male and female sexual discharge) (and lodged it) in a safe lodging (womb of the woman). 13 We then turned the drop of fluid into a clot of blood, then the clot into a small lump of flesh, then the lump into bones, then covered the bones with flesh; then developed it in a different mould; therefore Most Auspicious is Allah, the Best Creator. 14 after this you shall surely die. 15 Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat; 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
