And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 We knowingly exalted them (i.e., the Children of Israel) above other peoples of the world 32 and bestowed upon them the Signs wherein lay an evident test for them. 33 Yet those who deny the truth say, 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if what you say is true' 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those who were before them whom We destroyed? Indeed they were sinners. 37 For [thus it is:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in mere idle play: 38 We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. 39 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] is the term appointed for all of them: 40 On that Day no cousin shall help his cousin and they shall not be helped 41 save those upon whom God will have bestowed His grace and mercy: for, verily, He alone is almighty, a dispenser of grace. 42
