The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
