Shattering (Al-Infitaar)

19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 and when graves are laid open, 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 No! But you deny the Recompense. 9 And yet, verily, there are ever-watchful forces over you, 10 Honorable recorders, 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 They will enter it on the Day of Justice. 15 And will not be removed from it. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
