Have you heard the story of Abraham's honoured guests? 24 When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, and brought a fatted calf, 26 And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." 29 They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower." 30 ۞ Said he, 'And what is your business, envoys?' 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" 39 We therefore seized him and his army and threw them into the sea, while he was blaming himself. 40 And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind 41 Which turned everything it touched to ashes. 42 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 So they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves- 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46
