The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
O you who are clothed! 1 Arise and warn, 2 Proclaim the glory of your Lord; 3 and purify your clothing, 4 And pollution shun. 5 And do not favour others in order to receive more. 6 But for your Lord be patient. 7 When the Trumpet shall be sounded, 8 So that is a tough day. 9 for the unbelievers not easy. 10 Leave him to Me whom I created alone, 11 and appointed for him ample wealth 12 and sons ever present with him, 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications. 16 On him I shall impose a fearful doom. 17 He planned and plotted. 18 and woe to him; how he plotted! 19 What an evil plan he has made! 20 Then he looked around, 21 Then frowned he and showed displeasure. 22 then he retreated and waxed proud, 23 and said: 'This is no more than traced sorcery; 24 Nothing more than the speech of a man!" 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 And what do you know what Hell is? 27 It leaveth naught; it spareth naught 28 It strips away the hide of man. 29 Over it are nineteen keepers. 30 And We have appointed none but the angels to be wardens of the Fire. And their number we have made only a trial for those who disbelieve, so that those who are vouchsafed the Book may be convinced, and that those who believe may increase in faith, and that those who are vouchsafed the Book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the infidels may say: what meaneth Allah by this description! In this wise Allah sendeth astray whomsoever He will, and guideth whomsoever He will. And none knoweth the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but an admonition unto man. 31
