He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and then turned away 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 As for him who was indifferent, 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 While he fears [Allah], 9 You neglect. 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 (and whoso wills, shall remember it) 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 Honourable and Virtuous. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 From what did He create him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 and made the path of guidance easy for him to follow. 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 We send down abundant water, 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 And We made corn grow, 27 And grapes and clover, 28 Olives and dates, 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 And fruits and herbage 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 his consort, his sons, 36 for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. 39 And other faces that Day will be dust-stained, 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
