So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 he said: "Behold, you are people unknown [here]!" 62 They said, “In fact we have brought to you the matter which these people doubted.” 63 "And we have brought to you the truth (the news of the destruction of your nation) and certainly, we tell the truth. 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said: Lo! they are my guests. Affront me not! 68 And fear Allah and do not disgrace me." 69 They said, "Did we not forbid you to extend hospitality to strangers?" 70 "Here are my daughters," said Lot, "if you are so active." 71 By your life! they were blindly wandering on in their intoxication. 72 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise; 73 And We turned the township upside down and rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the prudent ones. 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 The dwellers of the Thicket were harmdoers. 78 and so We inflicted Our retribution on them. And behold, both these [sinful communities] lived by a highway, [to this day] plain to see 79
