The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear God? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who give less (than the due). 181 And weigh with an even balance. 182 "And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief. 183 And fear Him who created you and all the earlier people." 184 They replied, "You are bewitched. 185 You are nothing but a man like us, and we think you are a liar. 186 But in case you are speaking the truth, then make a segment of the sky to fall upon us." 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
