Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW) that you may be (one) of the warners, 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 And indeed it is mentioned in the earlier Books. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 So that he should have recited it to them, they would not have believed therein. 199 Even so, We have caused it to enter into the hearts of harmdoers: 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 But hast thou ever considered [this]: If We do allow them to enjoy [this life] for some years, 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 to admonish them. We have never been unjust. 209 And the satans have not brought it down. 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 They have been precluded from hearing it. 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee. 215 If they disobey you, say, "I bear no responsibility for what you do." 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 and sees your movements among those who prostrate themselves: 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They descend upon every lying, sinful one, 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
