۞ IT IS GOD who has made the sea subservient [to His laws, so that it be of use] to you so that ships might sail through it at His behest, and that you might seek to obtain [what you need] of His bounty, and that you might have cause to be grateful. 12 He has also made subservient to you all that is in the heavens and the earth. In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who use their minds. 13 Tell those who believe to forgive those who hope not for the days of Allah; in order that He may requite folk what they used to earn. 14 He who does what is right does it for his own gain, and he who does evil does so at his own loss, then to your Lord you shall all return. 15 We gave the Book to the Israelites, the commandments, and prophethood, granted them pure sustenance, and gave them preference above all people. 16 We gave them clear signs of the Command; yet it was not until after knowledge had come to them that they differed among themselves, and were insolent to each other. On the Day of Resurrection your Lord will indeed decide their differences. 17 Then We set you on a clear path [of religion]: so follow it, and do not yield to the desires of those who have no knowledge. 18 Surely they will be of no avail to you against Allah. Indeed the wrong-doers are friends of each other, whereas Allah is the friend of the God-fearing. 19 These are clear evidences to men and a Guidance and Mercy to those of assured Faith. 20 Or do those who commit evils think We will make them like those who have believed and done righteous deeds - [make them] equal in their life and their death? Evil is that which they judge. 21
