Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
