Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
