The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then he mustered 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
