The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
