Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
