In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif Lam Mim. 1 This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah; 2 Who believe in [the existence of] that which is beyond the reach of human perception, and are constant in prayer, and spend on others out of what We provide for them as sustenance; 3 those who believe in the revelation sent down to you and in what was sent before you, and firmly believe in the life to come -- 4 These are on guidance from their Lord, and these they are the blissful ones. 5 Those who disbelieve, whether you forewarn them or not, they will not believe. 6 God has sealed their hearts and hearing and their vision is veiled; a great punishment awaits them. 7

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
