Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
Man We fashioned from fermented clay dried tingling hard, 26 and the jinn before (the human being) of smokeless fire. 27 When your Lord said to the angels: 'See, I am creating a mortal from clay of molded mud. 28 "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him." 29 So the angels made obeisance, all of them together, 30 Not so Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 He said: O Iblis! what excuse have you that you are not with those who make obeisance? 32 He said: I am not one to prostrate myself unto a mortal whom Thou hast created out of potter's clay of black mud altered! 33 [Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled. 34 "And verily, the curse shall be upon you till the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)." 35 Said he, 'My Lord, respite me till the day they shall be raised.' 36 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 37 till the Day the time whereof is known [to Me alone]." 38 (satan) said: 'My Lord, for Your perverting me, I shall make (matters) in the earth seem most fair to them and I shall pervert all, 39 Save such of them as are Thy perfectly devoted slaves. 40 Allah said: this is the path leading unto Me straight. 41 Surely, as regards My servants, you have no authority, over them except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 And surely Hell is the promised place of them all: 43 It has seven gates, and through each gate a portion of them belong. 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
