Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and-backbiter, 1 who collects and hordes wealth, 2 He thinks that his wealth will immortalise him forever. 3 No indeed; he shall be thrust into the Crusher; 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 It is the fire kindled by Allah, 6 Which leaps up over the hearts, 7 (And) vaults them over 8 in outstretched columns. 9
