Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
