Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
