The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 and by the promised Day, 2 and by the witness and what is witnessed: 3 Accursed be the People of the Ditch! 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 They sat by it 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, 8 God to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness over everything. 9 Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire. 10 As for the righteously striving believers, they will live in Paradise wherein streams flow. This is the greatest triumph. 11 Surely the might of your Lord is great. 12 Indeed it is He Who initiates and redoes. 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 but all the while God encompasses them [with His knowledge and might] without their being aware of it. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 in a Guarded Tablet. 22
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
