The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The time of reckoning has drawn near for mankind, yet they are heedless and turn away. 1 Never does a new reminder come to them from their Lord but they listen to it with dalliance. 2 their hearts are distracted and forgetful. The wrongdoers confer together secretly, saying, "Is not this man a mortal like you? Will you succumb to magic with your eyes open?" 3 Say: "My Lord knoweth (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth: He is the One that heareth and knoweth (all things)." 4 Rather they said, “These are confused dreams, but in fact he has fabricated it – but in fact he is a poet; so he must bring us some sign, like those who were sent before.” 5 Not one city that We destroyed before them believed; what then, will they not believe? 6 (O Muhammad), even before you We never sent any other than human beings as Messengers, and to them We sent revelation. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know. 7 We gave them not bodies that would not eat food, nor were they immortals. 8 Then We were true to the promise, We saved them together with those whom We willed, and destroyed the transgressors. 9 We have revealed a Book to you which is admonition for you. Will you not then understand? 10
