Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 until an appointed time? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
