The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
