The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
