And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 We made in it gardens of date-palms and vines, and We caused springs to gush forth 34 That they may enjoy the fruits of this (artistry): It was not their hands that made this: will they not then give thanks? 35 Holy is He Who created all things in pairs, whether it be of what the earth produces, and of themselves, and of what they do not know. 36 And the night is another Sign for them. We strip the day from it and they become plunged in darkness. 37 And the sun runs on its fixed course for a term (appointed). That is the Decree of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk. 39 Neither does it lie in the sun's power to overtake the moon nor can the night outstrip the day. All glide along, each in its own orbit. 40 Another sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark. 41 And We have created for them of the like thereunto, so on them they ride. 42 And if We will, We shall drown them, and there will be no shout (or helper) for them (to hear their cry for help) nor will they be saved. 43 Unless it be a mercy from Us, and as an enjoyment for a while. 44 But when it is said to them, "Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy... " 45 And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they are from it turning away. 46 And when it is said to them: Spend out of what Allah has given you, those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Shall we feed him whom, if Allah please, He could feed? You are in naught but clear error. 47 And they say: "When will this promise come to pass, if what you say is true?" 48 They do not await except one blast which will seize them while they are disputing. 49 and so [sudden will be their end that] no testament will they be able to make, - nor to their own people will they return! 50
