WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee, 36 towards thee on the right hand and on the left hand in knots? 37 Does every one of them hope to enter [by this means] a garden of bliss? 38 By no means! For We have created them out of the (base matter) they know! 39 No! I swear by the Lord of the Easts and Wests, surely We are able 40 To replace them by those better than them; and none can escape from Us. 41 So leave them alone to plunge and play, until they encounter the Day which they are promised; 42 The Day whereon they will issue from their sepulchres in sudden haste as if they were rushing to a goal-post (fixed for them),- 43 Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. That is the Day which they had been promised. 44
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej). Sent down in Mecca after Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah) before The News (Al-Naba')
