In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 until an appointed time? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
