We have created the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay 26 and the jinn created We before of fire flaming. 27 And recall when your Lord said to the angels, “I will create man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 28 When I have formed him and breathed My spirit into him, fall down in prostration before him," 29 So the angels fell prostrate, all of them together 30 except iblis (father of the jinn) who refused to be one of those who prostrated themselves. 31 Said He: "O Iblis! What is thy reason for not being among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 He replied, "I am not one to prostrate myself to a man whom You have created out of a clay of moulded mud." 33 God said, "Then get out of here; for you are accursed, 34 And verily on thee shall be the curse till the Day of Requital. 35 Iblis prayed, "Lord, grant me respite until the Day of Judgment". 36 He answered: 'You are among those reprieved 37 “Till the Day of a well-known time.” 38 Iblis said: "My Lord! In the manner You led me to error, I will make things on earth seem attractive to them and lead all of them to error, 39 "Except Your chosen, (guided) slaves among them." 40 (Allah) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me. 41 Over My true servants you will be able to exercise no power, your power will be confined to the erring ones, those who choose to follow you. 42 And verily Hell is the place promised unto them all. 43 It has seven gates; for every gate there shall be a separate party of them. 44

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
