T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta Ha. 1 We have not Sent down on thee the Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed. 2 But only as a reminder for those who fear [Allah] - 3 a revelation from Him who created the earth and the high heavens; 4 the All Merciful settled on the throne. 5 To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth and what is between them and what is under the soil. 6 Whether you speak aloud [or in a low voice], He hears all, for He knows your secrets and what is even more hidden. 7 Allah-- there is no god but He; His are the very best names. 8 Have you heard the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his family: "Hold on! I have just perceived a fire; perhaps I will bring a brand from it for you, or I will find some guidance at the fire about the way to follow." 10 When he came to it, a voice called out: "Moses! 11 Verily I! I am thy Lord: so take off thy shoes; verily thou art into the holy valley, Tuwa. 12 I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed to you. 13 Verily I am Allah. There is no god beside Me. So serve Me and establish Prayers to remember Me. 14 “The Last Day will surely come – it was close that I hide it from all – in order that every soul may get the reward of its effort.” (He revealed it to His Prophets, so that people may fear and get ready. The exact time is not revealed to the people.) 15 Hence, let not anyone who does not believe in its coming and follows [but] his own desires divert thee from [belief in] it, lest thou perish! 16 “And what is this in your right hand, O Moosa?” 17 He said: it is my staff; I lean there on; and therewith beat down fodder for my sheep; and for me therein are other purposes. 18 He said, “Put it down, O Moosa! 19 Moses threw it on the ground and suddenly he saw that it was a moving serpent. 20 "Catch it," said He, "and have no fear; We shall revert it to its former state. 21 And place your hand in your armpit, it will come forth shining white, without blemish. This is another Sign of Allah, 22 This We have done to show you some of Our greater miracles. 23 Go thou unto Pharaoh! Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 24
